The Association of Finnish Construction Engineers and Architects
RIA was founded in
1951. It is a union of
17 local member associations and one labour market organization. There are
6000 ordinary members and nearly
3000 youth members in the local member associations.
The associations offer their members diverse activities, such as study trips, vocational training, visits to work sites, product demonstrations and sports events.
Cooperation with other building trade associations is very active. Each local association interacts with the building trade construction and education in its region in many ways.
The aim of the union is also to promote building design, urban planning, construction, and infrastructure engineering and to foster the cultural heritage related to these.
