RIA’s purpose is to function as a national central organization for engineers and construction architects as well as for the associations of individuals with a comparable education or qualification and those working in the building trade. RIA also aims at:
- the development of the professional readiness of those working in the building trade,
- the continuous improvement of societal and professional respect, and
- the improvement of employment opportunities and working preconditions
The values of the association also include the promotion of building design, urban planning and construction and fostering the cultural heritage related to these.

- Vision – RIA is a respected and continuously developing network of building trade professionals, offering versatile and skilled professionals to the building and real estate trade.
